Nothing’s Wasted is a documentary photography series exploring how spaces designed for function are reactivated through use, movement, and gathering.
The work centres on The Tanks at Tate Modern, once underground chambers built to store oil for turbine generators and now repurposed as spaces for performance, exhibition, and collective experience.
Originally designed as industrial infrastructure, The Tanks embodied a philosophy of reuse even in their earliest form. They were chosen over coal for being less polluting and easier to manage.
Today, they continue to serve as conduits for the flow of ideas and people, retaining their original purpose while adapting to new cultural demands.
